Practice Settings & Opportunities
SCCS supports clinicians across multiple settings — not just outpatient. Your placement depends on your licensure track, experience level, and career goals.
Outpatient Practice
Traditional outpatient therapy with individual, couples, family, and group sessions. Flexible scheduling with telehealth options.
Community-Based
Serve clients in community settings, schools, or partner organizations. Gain diverse clinical experience across populations.
Telehealth
Provide virtual therapy sessions to clients across approved states. Build your caseload with the flexibility of remote work.

Weekly Hour Requirements
Clinicians are expected to dedicate approximately 10–20 hours per week. Hours may vary based on your internship, residency, or supervisee agreement.
Total Weekly Commitment
Approximate range based on caseload, setting, and documentation needs
Compensation: $40–$50 per clinical hour (1099 contractors)

Direct Client Contact
6–12 hoursIndividual, group, couples, and/or family therapy sessions across outpatient, community-based, or telehealth settings
Individual Supervision
1 hourWeekly one-on-one supervision with your assigned board-approved clinical supervisor
Group Supervision
1–2 hoursWeekly group supervision or peer consultation with the clinical team
Documentation
2–4 hoursProgress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and case management documentation
Administrative
1–2 hoursScheduling, correspondence, training modules, and professional development
Clinical Expectations
Maintain a minimum of 10 direct client contact hours per week (adjustable based on internship or residency requirements)
Conduct thorough intake assessments for all new clients within the first session
Develop individualized treatment plans within 30 days of the initial assessment
Review and update treatment plans at minimum every 90 days
Complete progress notes within 24–48 hours of each session
Provide crisis intervention services as needed and follow established crisis protocols
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities appropriate to client needs and setting
Professional Standards
Attend all scheduled individual and group supervision sessions; come prepared with cases to discuss
Adhere to the ethical codes of your profession (ACA Code of Ethics, NASW Code of Ethics, or applicable board standards)
Maintain professional and respectful communication with clients, colleagues, and supervisors
Maintain active professional liability insurance at all times (guidance provided for interns)
Stay current with best practices through ongoing professional development and continuing education
Comply with all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict client confidentiality
Notify your supervisor immediately of any ethical concerns, safety issues, or emergencies
Licensure Hour Accumulation
Interns (MSW/MA Students)
Complete your required field placement hours under board-approved supervision. Hours vary by program — typically 600–1,200 total hours over 1–2 semesters.
Residents in Counseling (LPC-A)
Most states require 2,000–3,000 total supervised clinical hours for full LPC licensure. At our practice, you can expect to accumulate approximately 1,000–1,500 clinical hours per year.
Social Work Supervisees (LMSW)
Most states require 3,000–4,000 total supervised clinical hours for LCSW licensure. At our practice, you can expect to accumulate approximately 1,000–1,500 clinical hours per year.
